Project Manager (based in Morocco)

Seefar is seeking an experienced Project Manager, with complete fluency in French and Arabic, for an 18 month project in Morocco. 

You will have demonstrated project management experience delivering strategic communications projects in North Africa; have thematic experience on, and a strong interest in irregular migration and educational outreach; enjoy working in a high performing team from multiple countries; be someone donors trust; and are results focused. You must be based in Morocco and may have the opportunity to travel.

This is a part time position (estimated 3 days per week) with flexible working hours. We estimate that more work may be required in the initial 4-5 months. Travel may be required. 

Contract duration: 12 months, with estimated start date of 1 November 2023

Contract currency: EUR

Minimum requirements are as follows: 

  • Based in Morocco
  • An undergraduate degree
  • 5 years experience implementing strategic communications projects in North Africa
  • Strong and demonstrable project management skills
  • Complete fluency in written and spoken French, English and Arabic. Your writing skills are excellent and you are confident in engaging with donors and stakeholders to ensure projects align with donor expectations.

Responsibilities

The purpose of your role is to provide excellent project management services for a project that will reduce investment in irregular migration among young Moroccans. 

This project will reduce investment in irregular migration to Europe among 13-18 year-olds in Morocco. We will improve decision-making around irregular migration and shift norms away from investing in irregular migration, in favour of local opportunities and legal migration pathways. 

The following are the primary responsibilities of the role, with estimated allocations of time and attention.

Deliver: Project Management and Implementation

Approximately 80% of your time and attention:

  1. Fulfilling the role of project manager and overseeing project delivery from inception to completion using our internal systems and processes
  2. Recruiting, training and developing project teams in project locations
  3. Ensuring that projects are optimally resourced to deliver all programme outputs
  4. Ensuring internal and external reports are delivered on time and to a high standard
  5. Ensuring that all legal and donor compliance requirements are met
  6. Ensuring donor needs are met and expectations are exceeded where possible
  7. Liaison with partners, local stakeholders and officials to achieve project objectives
  8. Other tasks as directed

Deliver: Strategic Objectives

Approximately 10% of your time and attention:

  1. Provide thematic inputs to programs relating to migration, social inclusion and livelihoods, and contributing to fundraising and business development efforts 
  2. Contribute to Programmes Team activities towards achieving organisational strategic objectives 

Direct: Global Management

Approximately 10% of your time and attention:

  1. Represent and demonstrate the Foundation’s values.
  2. In collaboration with your Supervisor and with your Supervisor’s approval, identify and complete professional development activities, such as training courses.
  3. Cooperate with other areas of the Foundation, including to communicate substantive and administrative information that supports corporate management overall.
