Who You Are

You are a dynamic communications professional who is smart, intrinsically motivated, highly flexible and efficient and is comfortable working with a diverse team around the world. You will play a pivotal role in leading migration-related communications campaigns spanning Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. As part of Seefar’s strategic communications team, you will work alongside talented professionals to implement innovative communication strategies and behaviour change campaigns aimed at awareness raising and shifting perceptions around migration. This is a consultancy based position with a fee range of EUR 200-220 daily, based on experience. The consultant will be recruited based on project needs and requirements but no specific start date. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Your Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Communications (50%): Develop and implement strategic communications campaigns across thematic areas such as migration, livelihoods and modern slavery. Collaborate with the research team to ensure campaigns are evidence-based and tailored to target audiences. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in migration patterns, policies, and communication strategies relevant to migration.
  2. Social Media Management (30%) Develop impactful social media campaigns across multiple social media platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok. Oversee the creation of compelling outreach and capacity-building content tailored to diverse audiences and cultural contexts across the target countries.
  3. Monitoring and Learning (15%) Work with the Evaluation Lead to measure the effectiveness and impact of communication campaigns. Use data and feedback to refine messaging, adjust strategies, and report results. Provide general support to communications budgeting, and other tools to improve the efficiency of strategic communications campaigns.
  4. Supervision (5%) Supervise and coordinate communications field teams, ensuring consistent messaging and high-quality outputs.

An Excellent Candidate

This role requires someone with the skills, knowledge and experience listed under the “Essential criteria” heading below. A strong candidate will also meet one or more of the “Desirable criteria”.

Essential Criteria:

  1. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in strategic communications, preferably in migration-related projects or behaviour change campaigns.
  2. Proven track record in developing and implementing multi-channel, multi-language communication campaigns.
  3. Experience in creating outreach and capacity-building content for diverse audiences across different cultural contexts.
  4. Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate communications field teams across multiple countries.
  5. Strong expertise in designing and delivering social media campaigns, particularly on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok.
  6. Complete fluency in oral and written English.
  7. Knowledge of migration issues.

Desirable Criteria:

  1. Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, International Development).
  2. Experience working with or for EU institutions on migration-related communications.
  3. Experience in crisis communications and managing sensitive information related to migration.
  4. Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven optimization of communication strategies.
  5. Graphic design skills in data visualisation and presentation of complex migration data to diverse audiences.
  6. Fluency or proficiency in another language (e.g. French, Arabic).
