This snapshot presents a summary of key activities, achievements and learnings from the LACE project, implemented across Nigeria, Niger and Tunisia between 2023 and 2024. Funded by the European Union, the project sought to equip individuals and communities along the Central Mediterranean Route with accurate migration information, practical support and informed alternatives.
The findings draw on evidence collected across five core components of the intervention: digital engagement through social media, individual counselling, educational outreach in schools, capacity building for local actors, and awareness-raising events. Together, these efforts contributed to empowering potential migrants, strengthening community awareness, and reducing reliance on irregular migration pathways.
